NCAT Test Track
Verde has installed its technology at the NCAT Test Track, a national asphalt research facility. The 1.7-mile track, funded by highway agencies and industry sponsors, offers controlled 200 foot test sections for safe experimentation.
Verde Sets Industry First with Puro.earth Carbon Credits from Asphalt
Verde Resources, in partnership with Oregon Biochar Solutions and NCAT, successfully completed its proof-of-concept project at the NCAT Test Track, mixing and installing 110 tons of Cold Mix BioAsphalt™ with 5 tons of biochar. The project led to the issuance and sale of the world’s first Biochar Carbon Removal Credits from asphalt applications, certified by Puro.earth and purchased by a leading global financial institution. This breakthrough demonstrates the scalability, durability, and year-round application of Verde’s BioAsphalt™, positioning it as a cost-effective, climate-positive solution for the construction industry.
Verde’s Carbon-Sequestering BioAsphalt™ Earns Early Validation from NCAT
Verde Resources has reached a major milestone with early validation from the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) for its groundbreaking BioAsphalt™ —a cold mix, carbon-sequestering material that combines strength with flexibility. Since its installation in December 2024, Verde’s test section at the NCAT Test Track has withstood more than 50,000 ESALs (Equivalent Single Axle Loads) of heavy-truck traffic while maintaining flexibility and durability, prompting NCAT to endorse its immediate suitability for low-volume applications such as local roads, subdivisions, and parking lots. Long-term performance testing is underway as part of NCAT’s multi-year cycle to assess viability for medium to high-traffic roadways.
To scale this disruptive innovation capable of mitigating Scope 1–3 emissions, Verde is partnering with Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions , North America’s largest liquid asphalt producer, with a long-term exclusive commercialization agreement anticipated by September 2025.
